In Case You Are Wondering ...

Several people have inquired about how we are getting and presenting the news on this site. The short answer is that it is a bit complicated.

The goal was to aggregate various sources and to provide the content in a uniform and consistent format.

Basically, on a periodic basis, the news is a taken from RSS (Really Simple (or Stupid) Syndication) feeds from the various sources. Since RSS implementations vary, each captured source must be parsed and reformated. They are then uploaded to the website.

This sounds like a lot of work. It i. Luckily it is fully automated. The truth is, once setup and tested, run time is trivial (less than a minute).
